Acanthophyllia deshayesiana - Button Large Ultra

The Large Ultra Button Coral (Acanthophyllia deshayesiana) is also known as a Meat Coral within the aquarium trade due to its thick meaty like tissue. Many confuse this coral with a Scolymia or a Cynarina since they are all have a round, single polyp but their skeletons is how you can truly tell them apart. The Acanthophyllia skeleton has spiky pieces that extend out, while the others do not.
