The Black Ram is a different beauty that will surely captivate hobbyist with their darker hues of color. Ram Cichlids are known for being smaller in size when compared to other S. American Cichlids. Their small adult size makes them a perfect candidate for the smaller aquariums. They are considered semi-aggressive and should be housed with tank mates with similar temperaments and are similar in size. They don't need much to be kept happy just provide them with a sandy substrate, the right water parameters and some drift wood where they can hide. For continued health, feed them a variety of frozen meaty foods and high quality pellets for cichlids.
