Blue Lesser Spiny Eel
The Blue Lesser Spiny Eel have a striking blue or blue-gray body with irregular dark spots or blotches. Their underbellies are usually lighter in color. They can grow to be around 8 to 12 inches (20 to 30 centimeters) in length. A secure lid or cover is essential, as these eels are skilled escape artists and can easily slip out of uncovered tanks. Blue Lesser Spiny Eels are carnivorous and primarily feed on small live or frozen foods. Offer them a diet of bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia, and other small aquatic invertebrates. They have poor eyesight, so use feeding tongs to place food near their hiding spots.
