Fire-eyed Loach

The Fire-eyed Loach are known for having a playful behavior and being a very active species. They are often seen exploring the bottom of the aquarium, digging through substrate, and investigating various hiding spots. This loach has a elongated body, slender tail, distinct pattern and barbels. The barbels assist in finding food within the substrate. They typically feed on small invertebrates, insect larvae, crustaceans, and plant matter in the wild. In aquariums, loaches should be fed a varied diet consisting of Nutramar Complete Pellets, frozen or live foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and occasionally vegetable based foods.
