The Aquacultured Bluelined Angelfish

Landing at Quality Marine for the first time is the aquacultured Blueline Angelfish (Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis). Wild collected specimens are known for their presence in Vietnam, China, Taiwan, and as far North as Japan, where they are often found singly and in pairs. While not as small as a Centropyge sp, these are compact and reserve Pomacanthids in comparison to say Holocanthus sp angels, only reaching up to a maximum of ten inches (25cm). They should be kept with extreme caution around sessile cnidaria as coral is included in part of their mainstay diet, in particular, sea-whips and black corals. The captive-bred specimens currently in our care, our juveniles, with a differing color from the adults. Juveniles are mostly black with two vertical yellow stripes, a yellow caudal fin and yellow markings on the head. Adults, on the other hand fully mature only maintain the yellow caudal tail from their juvenile trait with the body developing into an orange hue along with the trademark blue stripes.
