Green Button Coral

Acanthophyllia Corals should be added to well established aquariums with low water flow and moderate lighting. Acanthophyllia Corals receive the majority of their nutrients from photosynthesis, however additional feedings of planktonic foods will benefit their health. Acanthophyllia Corals are great for beginner hobbyists as they are moderately easy to care for and reef safe. However care should be taken when placing the Acanthophyllia Coral in the aquarium as they will expand and may sting other corals. Corals will benefit from the addition of Calcium, Strontium, Iodine, Magnesium and Trace Elements.

Green Button Corals may also be known as Doughnut, Cat's Eye, Tooth, Teary Eye or Meat Coral. Commonly seen in the aquarium trade. The Button Corals are quite beautiful with a range of colors and shades. However the Green Button Corals will have a beautiful green color. Button Corals will vary greatly in size and can expand to twice its size. Button Corals are generally round and single polyped.
