Green Thick Finger Lemnalia Tree Coral
(Lemnalia sp on scleractinia)
Lemnalia corals are found in various locations throughout the Indo-Pacific region, including the waters around Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the Great Barrier Reef typically in shallow reef environments. Lemnalia corals contain photosynthetic algae called zooxanthellae, which reside within their tissues. These algae provide the corals with energy through photosynthesis. However, Lemnalia corals also rely on capturing planktonic food from the water column to meet their nutritional needs. Lemnalia corals are generally considered to be moderately easy to care for in aquariums. They are adaptable and prefer moderate to high lighting and moderate to strong water flow. However, proper water quality, including stable parameters and regular water changes, is essential for their well-being. Soft corals like Lemnalia generally have a higher tolerance to copper compared to stony corals. However, it's important to maintain copper levels within safe limits in the aquarium, as high concentrations can still be harmful to these corals and other tank inhabitants. Lemnalia corals are known for their soft, flexible, and often branching structures. Corals will benefit from the addition of Calcium, Strontium, Iodine, Magnesium and Trace Elements.
Lemnalia Corals are also known as Branch, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Kenya Tree or Soft Tree Corals. Commonly seen in the aquarium trade. The Lemnalia Corals are generally a yellow, gold or purple color. Lemnalia Corals will vary greatly in size and formation.
