Neon Green Nepthea Tree Coral
(Sinularia sp.)
Nepthea corals are found in various tropical and subtropical regions of the world, including the Indo-Pacific, the Red Sea, and the Caribbean. They are commonly found in shallow waters, often on reef slopes or in protected lagoons. Nepthea corals host symbiotic algae called zooxanthellae within their tissues. These algae perform photosynthesis, converting sunlight into energy and providing the coral with nutrients. Nepthea corals are considered relatively easy to care for in a well-maintained reef aquarium. They require stable water parameters, moderate water flow, and moderate lighting levels to support their photosynthetic needs. Nepthea corals can vary in their tolerance to copper. It is generally recommended to avoid exposing them to high copper levels, as it can be harmful to their health. Nepthea corals can also release toxins when stressed, so it's important to maintain stable water conditions to ensure their well-being. Corals will benefit from the addition of Calcium, Strontium, Iodine, Magnesium and Trace Elements.
Nepthea Corals are also be known as Tree Corals. Commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Nepthea corals can exhibit a wide range of colors, including shades of green, brown, yellow, and pink. They have a delicate appearance and can sway gracefully in the water current. Nepthea Corals will vary greatly in size and formation.
