Japanese Angelfish
(Centropyge interrupta)
Centropyge Angelfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work, caves, cracks and crevices should be provided for grazing and hiding. Centropyge Angelfish may pick at mobile and sessile invertebrates. A diet of marine meaty, angelfish and algae based foods should be provided multiple times daily. Care will need to be taken when handling Angelfish as they have cheeks pines, avoid using nets when handling. Centropyge Angelfish are hermaphroditic meaning they may have both sex organs at some point in their lives. May be territorial towards other Angelfish with the same shape, however if added to a large enough aquarium and at the same time Dwarf Angelfish may live harmoniously.
The Japanese Angelfish is also known as the Japanese Pygmy Angelfish. This rarely seen and exquisite colored Dwarf Angelfish is mainly orange with dazzling purple/blue spots and a bright yellow tail. Japanese Angelfish can grow to 6".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 70 gallons or larger for this species.
