Chaetodontoplus Angelfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work, caves, cracks and crevices should be provided for grazing and hiding. Chaetodontoplus Angelfish may pick at mobile and sessile invertebrates. A diet of marine meaty, angel and algae based foods should be provided multiple times daily. Care will need to be taken when handling Angelfish as they have cheeks pines, avoid using nets when handling. Chaetodontoplus Angelfish are hermaphroditic meaning they may have both sex organs at some point in their lives. May be territorial towards other Angelfish with the same shape. Males and females may exhibit slightly color differences. Most juveniles and adults of the Chaetodontoplus Angelfish may exhibit marked color or pattern differences.
The Bluestriped Angelfish is also known as the Bluelined Angelfish. This rarely seen and beautifully colored fish has a dark body with iridescent blue stripes, a yellow bar behind its eye, dorsal and anal fins are edged with white while the caudal is edged in bright yellow as a juvenile. Adults have a yellow to tan body with blue horizontal stripes. Bluestriped Angelfish can grow to 10".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 180 gallons or larger for this species.
