Harlequin Basslet

Known as Dwarf Sea Basses Serranus Basslets are hardy and should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of rockwork and swimming room. Provide a diet of meaty enriched foods along with algae matter. Serranus Basslets have high metabolism's so be sure to feed multiple times a day. considered to be peaceful but can be aggressive towards inhabitants that swim in the lower level of your aquarium. Serranus may pick at small shrimp and crabs. Serranus Basslets are hermaphroditic meaning they may have both sex organs at some point in their lives.
The Harlequin Basslet is also known as the Harlequin Bass. Commonly seen in the aquarium trade Harlequin Bass have irregularly shaped color patterns ranging from white to yellow and black, throughout its entire body. Harlequin Basslet can grow to 11.5".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 75 gallons or larger for this species.
