Peppermint Basslet

Known as Dwarf Sea Basses Serranus Basslets are hardy and should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of rockwork and swimming room. Provide a diet of meaty enriched foods along with algae matter. Serranus Basslets have high metabolism's so be sure to feed multiple times a day. considered to be peaceful but can be aggressive towards inhabitants that swim in the lower level of your aquarium. Serranus may pick at small shrimp and crabs. Serranus Basslets are hermaphroditic meaning they may have both sex organs at some point in their lives.
The Peppermint Basslet is also known as the Peppermint Bass. Recently introduced to the aquarium trade this uniquely colored fish has alternating dark red, red to white mottling over its entire body. Peppermint Basslet can grow to 3.5".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
