Atlantic Spadefish

Chaetodipterus Spadefish should only be added to very large well established aquariums with a sandy bottom. Provide plenty of rockwork, caves, cracks and crevices. Spadefish are found in warm seas along coastal waters. Provide a diet of meaty enriched foods along with algae matter. Juveniles tend to swim in more shallow waters than adults. May see juvenile and adult appearance differences.
The Atlantic Spadefish is also known as the Spadefish or Moonfish. Seldomly seen in the aquarium trade, as it is mainly seen as a game fish. Atlantic Spadefish are quite impressively colored with their metallic silver body coloration accented with black stripes. Atlantic Spadefish can grow to almost 3'.
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
