Pinnatus Batfish

Platax Batfish should be added to well established aquariums. Platax Batfish are commonly found around reefs and shipwrecks. Provide a diet of meaty enriched foods along with algae matter. Feed small amounts multiple times daily. Platax Batfish may graze on corals, small invertebrates and fish. Batfish are slow moving, peaceful and social fish that are personable and engaging. Batfish should not be kept with aggressive fish. May see juvenile and adult appearance differences.
The Pinnatus Batfish is also known as the Platax, Red-Striped or Dusky Batfish. Commonly seen in the aquarium trade juveniles and adults look quite different. Juveniles are brown to black or black and its body completely trimmed with orange. Adults transition to a dull silver coloration. Pinnatus Batfish can grow to 18".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 500 gallons or larger for this species.
