Ember Blenny

Cirripectes Blennies should be added to well established aquariums. Rock work should be provided for perching, hiding and grazing. Cirripectes Blennies are considered to be peaceful however may pick at benthic species. Provide a balanced diet of algae and some meaty foods for optimal health. Should be housed with peaceful tankmates that allow Cirripectes Blennies to graze. Males may be slightlyly larger and more colorful than females. Cirripectes may display color changes during breeding. Most Blennies lack or have very small swim bladders. Be sure to provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as Blennies may jump.
The Ember Blenny is also known as the Redstreaked or Reticulated Blenny. Commonly seen in the aquarium trade, males and females will see marked color differences. Males are mainly dark with reddish brown dusky spots and lines. Females are reddish brown with light dusky spots and bars on its head and body. Both the males and females have fluctuating amounts of red/orange on their dorsal and tail fins. Ember Blennies can grow to a little over 5".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 55 gallons or larger for this species.
