One Striped Fang Blenny

Meiacanthus Blennies are also known as Fang Blennies and should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of swim room. Rock work should be provided for perching, hiding and grazing. Meiacanthus Blennies are considered to be easy and peaceful however, can become territorial to other fish resembling their shape. If sufficient algae is not present supplement with algae based foods and algae matter. Males tend to be larger than females and experience color changes during breeding. Most Blennies lack or have very small swim bladders however the Meiacanthus genus of Blennies do not share this trait. Be sure to provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as Blennies may jump.
The One Striped Fang Blenny is also known as the Schooling Fang Blenny or One Striped Poisoned Fang Blenny. Occasionally seen in the aquarium trade. One Striped Fang Blennies have a yellow head fading to a white body. There are three broad black stripes that run from its head to tail. The stripes begin to break up into spots as they reach the tail of the fish. One Striped Fang Blenny can grow to almost 3".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
