Smith's Blenny

Meiacanthus Blennies are also known as Fang Blennies and should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of swim room. Rock work should be provided for perching, hiding and grazing. Meiacanthus Blennies are considered to be easy and peaceful however, can become territorial to other fish resembling their shape. If sufficient algae is not present supplement with algae based foods and algae matter. Males tend to be larger than females and experience color changes during breeding. Most Blennies lack or have very small swim bladders however the Meiacanthus genus of Blennies do not share this trait. Be sure to provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as Blennies may jump.
The Smith's Blenny is also known as the Disco Blenny. Smith's Blenny are unfrequently seen in the aquarium trade. Smith's Blenny have a beautiful white body with a black stripe that starts at the tail fin running along the dorsal fin, ending with at the eye . Smith's Blenny can grow to 3".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
