Atlantic Redlip Blenny
(Ophioblennius macclurei)
Ophioblennius Blennies should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of swim room. Rock work should be provided for perching and grazing. Ophioblennius Blennies can be very aggressive and territorial towards smaller and less aggressive tank mates. Provide a diet rich in algae based foods, if sufficient algae is not present supplementing is necessary. Ophioblennius Blennies may consume various microalgaes. May pick at small benthic invertebrates. Most Blennies lack or have very small swim bladders. Be sure to provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as Blennies may jump.
