Sandhopper Blenny

(Parapercis snyderi)

Parapercis Blennies also known as sandperches and should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of swim room. Rock work should be provided for perching, hiding and grazing. They are hardy, active and can be a bit aggressive and territorial towards smaller, less aggressive tank mates. Provide a diet rich in meaty foods. Parapercis Blennies may pick at small fish or crustaceans. Most Blennies lack or have very small swim bladders. Be sure to provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as Blennies may jump.

The Sandhopper is also known as the Snyder's Grubfish. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. As its name suggests the Sandhopper is mainly white with several U shaped marks on its back and several dark marks on their sides. Sandhopper can grow to a little over 4".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
