Haly's Weedfish

Springeratus Blennies should be added to well established aquariums with plenty rock work with caves to hide and explore. Springeratus Blennies will pick at benthic crustaceans. Not much is known about Springeratus Blennies however ensuring a varied diet of meaty and algae based foods provided multiple times daily will ensure the Blenny eats well. Springeratus Blennies may consume cyanobacteria, slime and other types of algae. Most Blennies lack or have very small swim bladders and generally stay on the bottom. Be sure to provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as Blennies may jump.

The Haly's Weedfish is also known as the Caledonian Weedfish. Juveniles are red to brown color with white bands, adults will develop uneven large pale spots on the upper and lower sides of their body that may extend to the dorsal fin. Haly's Weedfish can grow to 3".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
