Apogon Cardinalfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work with caves and ledges should be provided for grazing and hiding. Most Apogon Cardinalfish are peaceful schooling fish but carefully research each species before adding to your aquarium. A diverse diet of enriched meaty foods should be provided for continued good health. Most Apogon Cardinalfish are active at night and rest during the day. Some Cardinalfish are mouth brooders research each species to ensure the appropriate care is given. They are slow methodical swimmers house with other peaceful tank mates.
The Red Spot Cardinalfish is also known as the Dwarf or Parvulus Cardinalfish. Almost never seen in the aquarium trade. Red Spot Cardinalfish are very alluring with their transparent body, black line running across its body and a defined red spot on its caudal peduncle. Red Spot Cardinalfish can grow to almost 2".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 20 gallons or larger for this species.
