Western Striped Cardinalfish

Apogon Cardinalfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work with caves and ledges should be provided for grazing and hiding. Most Apogon Cardinalfish are peaceful schooling fish but carefully research each species before adding to your aquarium. A diverse diet of enriched meaty foods should be provided for continued good health. Most Apogon Cardinalfish are active at night and rest during the day. Some Cardinalfish are mouth brooders research each species to ensure the appropriate care is given. They are slow methodical swimmers house with other peaceful tank mates.
The Western Striped Cardinalfish is also known as the Red Striped Cardinalfish. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. This colorful fish has several red to brown stripes and black spots on the pectoral and tail fins. Western Striped Cardinalfish can grow to a little over 3".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
