Black Cardinalfish

Apogonichthyoides Cardinalfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work with caves and ledges should be provided for grazing and hiding. Most Apogonichthyoides Cardinalfish are peaceful schooling fish but carefully research each species before adding to your aquarium. A diverse diet of enriched meaty foods should be provided for continued good health. Most Apogonichthyoides Cardinalfish are active at night and rest during the day. Some Cardinalfish are mouth brooders research each species to ensure the appropriate care is given. They are slow methodical swimmers house with other peaceful tank mates.
The Black Cardinalfish is also known as the Black Cardinal Perch. Sometimes seen in the aquarium trade. Black Cardinalfish are mottled gray to brown color with a black false eye spot on its second dorsal fin that is highlighted in white. Black Cardinalfish can grow to almost 4".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
