Rose Skunk Clownfish
(Amphiprion nigripes cf.)
Amphiprion Clownfish should be added to a well established aquarium with plenty of rock work and swimming area. Also known as anemonefish they are hardy, reef safe and easy to care for. They are also one of the most popular marine aquarium inhabitants. Anemonefish create a symbiotic relationship with anemones. Anemonefish are dependent on anemone's for shelter and protection and provide food and cleaning services to the anemone. They can be a bit territorial over their host anemone. Females are larger than the males and are protandrous hermaphrodites, meaning the juveniles mature into males but may reproduce as females later in life. Anemonefish should be fed a diet of meaty and herbivore based foods.
The Rose Skunk Clownfish is also known as the Maldives or Rose Skunk Anemonefish. Occasionally seen in the aquarium trade. Rose Skunk Clownfish are quite lovely with their pale orange body color and a thin vertical white head stripe and black pelvic and anal fins. Rose Skunk Clownfish can grow to almost 4".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
