Yellow Belly Damselfish
(Amblyglyphidodon leucogaster)
Amblyglyphidodon Gobies are known as Damselfish. They are hardy and excellent beginner fish. Typically found near vertical reef walls among corals and gorgonians so provide an aquarium with plenty of rock work. Damselfish are reef safe and easily accept most omnivore diets, fed multiple times daily. Groups of most Damselfish can be added to an aquarium if added at the same time and provided they have plenty of space as they can become a bit territorial. Males tend to be slightly larger than females but otherwise are difficult to tell them apart.
Yellow Belly Damselfish are also known as the White Belly or Goldscaled Damselfish. Their may be color phases possibly due to collection areas. Generally they will have a silver body with a yellow belly or silver body with a white belly. Rarely seen in the aquarium trade. They can grow to 5".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 70 gallons or larger for this species.
