3 Spot Domino Damselfish
(Dascyllus trimaculatus)
Dascyllus Damselfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work should be provided for grazing and hiding. Dascyllus Damselfish may pick at small benthic crustaceans. Be sure to thoroughly research each species as some Dascyllus Damselfish are known to be quite territorial and aggressive. Juveniles can be added in small groups but as they mature will be become more aggressive. They should be housed with larger tank mates not easily harrassed. A diet of meaty and algae based foods which includes Spirulina should be provided.
The 3 Spot Domino Damselfish are also known as the Threespot Dascyllus or Domino Damselfish. Somewhat commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Adult and juvenile 3 Spot Domino Damselfish are black with three white spots. As the fish matures their black color begins to fade and they may lose their spots. They can grow to almost 6".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 75 gallons or larger for this species.
