Cloudy Damselfish
(Dascyllus carneus)
Dascyllus Damselfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work should be provided for grazing and hiding. Dascyllus Damselfish may pick at small benthic crustaceans. Be sure to thoroughly research each species as some Dascyllus Damselfish are known to be quite territorial and aggressive. Juveniles can be added in small groups but as they mature will be become more aggressive. They should be housed with larger tank mates not easily harrassed. A diet of meaty and algae based foods which includes Spirulina should be provided.
The Cloudy Damselfish are also known as the Cloudy or Indian Dascyllus. Rarely seen in the aquarium trade. One of the more peaceful and hardier fish in the Dascyllus genus they are mainly white with a slightly tint of green on its face belly. There is a black stripe behind its head with the dorsal, pelvic and anal fins black. They can grow to almost 3".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
