Cross Damselfish
(Neoglyphidodon crossi)
Neoglyphidodon Damselfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work should be provided for grazing. Neoglyphidodon Damselfish are very aggressive careful planning and consideration should be taken before adding fish to aquariums. They should be housed singly and only be housed with larger, intrusive and more aggressive tank mates. A diet of meaty and algae based foods which includes Spirulina should be provided several times daily. They may also pick at soft corals. May see juvenile and adult color differences.
The Cross Damselfish are also known as the Orange Damselfish. Occasionally seen in the aquarium trade. The Cross Damselfish juveniles and adults will have color differences. Juveniles have a red to orange body, pelvic and anal fins. They have a thin blue horizontal line above its eye running to its caudal fin. As the fish matures they will begin to fade to a dark brown color. They can grow a little over 5".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 50 gallons or larger for this species.
