Coral Demoiselle Damselfish
(Neopomacentrus nemurus)
Neopomacentrus Damselfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim as they are open water swimmers. Plenty of rock work with caves and crevices should be provided for grazing and hiding. Neopomacentrus Damselfish may pick at benthic invertebrates. A diet of meaty and algae based foods which include Spirulina should be provided several times daily. Neopomacentrus are hardy, peaceful, shy fish that can be kept in small groups if housed in a large aquarium.
The Coral Damselfish are also known as the Nemurus Chromis or Yellow Tipped Damselfish. Rarely seen in the aquarium trade. The Coral Damselfish have a light blue to gray body, a black spot on its gill cover and its snout, rear of its dorsal, anal and tail fin are a pleasing yellow color. They can grow a little over 3".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 50 gallons or larger for this species.
