Richardson's Reef's Damselfish
(Pomachromis richardsoni)
Pomachromis Damselfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work with caves and crevices should be provided for grazing and hiding. Pomachromis Damselfish may pick at benthic invertebrates. A diet of meaty and algae based foods which include Spirulina should be provided several times daily. Groups of juveniles can be added to larger aquariums however, careful consideration will need to be given before adding to the aquarium as Pomachromis Damselfish become more aggressive and territorial to fish of the same genus or size as they mature.
The Richardson's Reef's Damselfish are also known simply as Richardson's Damselfish. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. The Richardson's Reef's Damselfish is quite lovely with a mostly silver body and sometimes a yellow head and back. The lobes of its tail are black with dark margins on its dorsal and anal fins, and a white to light yellow spot on the rear base of its dorsal. They can grow to almost 2.5".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
