Sailfin Dottyback
(Pseudochromis dutoiti)
Oxycercichthys Dottybacks should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of rock work with cracks, caves and crevices for hiding. Although shy and secretive they are also territorial and will defend their territory aggressively. Oxycercichthys Dottybacks are hardy and easy to feed. A diet of meaty based foods should be provided daily. Oxycercichthys Dottybacks will consume small worms, fish and crustaceans. Color differences are seen between juveniles/females and males.
The Sailfin Dottyback is also known as the Longtail Dottyback. Rarely ever seen in the aquarium trade. There are color differences between Juveniles/females and the males. Juveniles and females generally have an overall light yellow color while the males have a pink body with a blue head and dorsal, pectoral, anal and tail fins are yellow. They can grow to almost 5".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 50 gallons or larger for this species.
