Blacktip Morwong Drumfish
(Cheilodactylus francisi)
Morwong should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of swim room. Provide an aquarium with ample rockwork, caves, cracks and crevices for hiding and grazing. A well established substrate should also be provided as Morwong will suck up substrate looking for invertebrates to consume. They should be fed a diet rich in meaty foods fed twice daily. Morwong are generally peaceful slow moving fish and should only be housed with other peaceful tank mates.
The Blacktip Morwong are also known as Masked Moki. Seldomly seen in the aquarium trade. Blacktip Morwong have an overall white body color with four diagonal dark stripes. The anal fin is white, pelvic fin is black and the upper caudal fin lobe has a black tip. They can grow to almost 20".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 200 gallons or larger for this species.
