Mimic Saddle Puffer Filefish
(Paraluterus prionurus)
Paraluterus Puffers should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work with caves and ledges should be provided for grazing and hiding. They are shy, secretive and peaceful fish that should be housed with other peaceful fish. They are slow moving fish, avoid high water flow. They may also nip and consume aiptasia, small crustaceans, snails, crabs, corals, tube worms, macro and micro algae. Mimic Saddle Puffers mimic Canthigaster valentini.
Mimic Saddle Puffer are also sometimes known as the Blacksaddle Filefish. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. Mimic Saddle Puffers are a sandy color to gray with black saddles on their back and a yellow tail. Mimic Saddle Puffer can grow to a little over 4".
