Sphynx Goby
(Amblygobius sphynx)
Amblygobius Gobies are also known as sand sifting Gobies. They are hardy, excellent beginner fish but should not be housed with more aggressive fish. Sand sifting Gobies should be housed singly but a mated pair may be successfully housed together. Typically found near sandy, muddy reef areas provide an aquarium with plenty of sand and rock work. Sand sifting Gobies are reef safe but may pick at small crustaceans. Feed an omnivorous diet with plenty of meaty and algae based foods multiple times daily. If not readily eating try a diet of fortified live Brine shrimp or black worms. Provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as they may jump.
Sphynx Goby are also sometimes known as the Dragon Goby. Occasionally seen in the aquarium trade. The Sphynx Goby is mainly yellow to brown color, white belly, brown stripes and black spots on its back. Sphynx Goby can grow to almost 7".
