Crested Oyster Goby
(Cryptocentroides gobioides)
Cryptocentroides Gobies should be added to a well established aquarium with a deep sand bed for burrowing. Ample rockwork for grazing and hiding should be provided along with a diet of marine meaty foods multiple times daily. Gobies will also scavenge through the sand for food. House with other peaceful tank mates. Gobies may jump provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid. Although quite peaceful Cryptocentroides Gobies should be kept singly or as a mated pair.
Crested Oyster Goby are also sometimes known as Australian Crested, Crested Mud or Oyster Goby. Not often found in the aquarium trade. Crested Oyster Goby are quite lovely with an overall olive to green body color and a mottled back, bright blue and orange dashes on their sides, blue spots on their head, dark pink stripes on their dorsal fin, red anal fins. Males are a darker color than females. Crested Oyster Goby can grow to a little over 2".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 10 gallons or larger for this species.
