Lagoon Shrimp Goby

Cryptocentrus Gobies are also known as shrimp Gobies and develop a symbiotic relationship with alpheid shrimp. The shrimp provide a home used by both the shrimp and Goby, while the Goby acts as a lookout for predators. Shrimp Gobies are peaceful, hardy, small and easy to maintain. Cryptocentrus Gobies should be added to aquariums with a deep sand bed for burrowing. Ample rockwork for grazing and hiding should be provided along with a diet of marine meaty foods multiple times daily. Shrimp Gobies will also scavenge through the sand for food. House with other peaceful tank mates. Gobies may jump provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid. Although quite peaceful Cryptocentrus Gobies should be kept singly or as a mated pair.
Lagoon Shrimp Goby are also sometimes known as Lagoon Prawn Goby. Sometimes found in the aquarium trade. Lagoon Shrimp Goby are quite lovely with an overall gray body with bright blue to green stripes on its head and thin white stripes along its sides. Lagoon Shrimp Goby can grow to a little over 5".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 50 gallons or larger for this species.
