Catalina Goby

Lythrypnus Gobies should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of rockwork, caves, cracks and crevices. Lythrypnus Gobies are cool water species ensure appropriate temperatures are provided. Lythrypnus Gobies are quite peaceful and should be housed with other peaceful tank mates. They may become territorial to similar species of the same gender. Although considered reef safe Lythrypnus Gobies may consume small benthic invertebrates. Provide a diet rich in meaty foods multiple times daily. Lythrypnus Gobies are hermaphrodites meaning they are born female and at some point in their life may turn into a male. Provide a tight fitting lid as Gobies may jump.
Catalina Goby are also sometimes known as the Blue Banded Goby. Occasionally seen in the aquarium trade. Catalina Gobies are mainly a bright red with thin blue bands around its body. Catalina Goby can grow to a little over 2".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
