Bella Goby

Valenciennea Gobies are often known as Sleeper Gobies and should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work, cracks, crevices, caves with a sand bed should be provided for hiding. Valencienna are small, easy to maintain and fit well in most reef aquariums. They are a good sand sifter and will pick up mouths of sand looking for small invertebrates and organic matter. A diet of meaty and algae based foods should be provided multiple times daily. Feed adult, fortified Brine, Glass/Grass shrimp and black worms if having difficulty enticing a feeding response. Valenciennea Gobies tend to be shy and peaceful house with other peaceful tank mates. In the wild Valenciennea Gobies mate for life if possible house as a mated pair. Provide a tight fitting aquarium as Gobies may jump.
Bella Goby are also sometimes known simply as the Bella Sand Sifting Goby. Somewhat commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Bella Gobies have several color variation ranging from maroon or red and orange, yellow and gold head with blue stripes below its eyes and white chin and belly. As Bella Gobies begin to mature they develop black spots under their chins. Bella Gobies can grow to a little over 3".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
