Sleeper Striped Goby

Valenciennea Gobies are often known as Sleeper Gobies and should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work, cracks, crevices, caves with a sand bed should be provided for hiding. Valencienna are small, easy to maintain and fit well in most reef aquariums. They are a good sand sifter and will pick up mouths of sand looking for small invertebrates and organic matter. A diet of meaty and algae based foods should be provided multiple times daily. Feed adult, fortified Brine, Glass/Grass shrimp and black worms if having difficulty enticing a feeding response. Valenciennea Gobies tend to be shy and peaceful house with other peaceful tank mates. In the wild Valenciennea Gobies mate for life if possible house as a mated pair. Provide a tight fitting aquarium as Gobies may jump.
Sleeper Striped Goby are also sometimes known simply as the Longfinned Sleeper Goby. Commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Sleeper Striped Gobies have an overall light gray color with five horizontal blue trimmed brown stripes. Sleeper Striped Gobies can grow to a little over 5".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
