Painted Greenling

Greenlings should be added to aquariums with rockwork, caves, cracks and crevices. They also prefer areas with eelGrass and red algae. Greenlings can be a bit territorial and aggressive. House with tank mates that are not easily harrassed. Some in this genus will see drastic color differences between males and females. Greenlings are carnivores, a diet rich in meaty foods should be offered multiple times daily.

Painted Greenlings are also sometimes known as the Convict Fish. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. Painted Greenling are an overall white color with dark red vertical stripes. Painted Greenlings can grow to almost 10".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 100 gallons or larger for this species.
