Ribboned Pipefish

Pipefish are closely related to Shrimpfish, Seahorses and Dragonets. Pipefish should be added to aquariums with plenty of rockwork with caves, cracks, crevices and ledges large enough to hide in. Haliichthys Pipefish may not eat immediately try feeding live enriched adult Brine Shrimp. Over time they should begin to accept frozen Brine, Mysis and Krill fed at least two times daily. Pipefish are slow swimmers and require slow water movement. Any filtration intakes should be equipped with strainers. They will require peaceful tank mates as they are shy fish.

Ribboned Pipefish are also sometimes known simply as Ribboned Seadragon. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. Ribboned Pipefish have varying colors that range from a green to yellow to a brown red color. Ribboned Pipefish can grow to almost 12".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 75 gallons or larger for this species.
