Sand Pufferfish

Torquigener Pufferfish should be added to well established large aquariums with plenty of room to swim. It is not known for sure if this genus of Pufferfish is able to puff up or not, however care should still be taken when handling. Plenty of rock work with cracks, caves and crevices. Torquigener Puffers may disturb and consume Invertebrates. A varied diet of larger meaty foods should be fed multiple times daily. Pufferfish are intelligent and have a wonderful personality, they will make a great addition to large fish only aquariums. House with tank mates with similar temperament and size. Torquigener Pufferfish generally start out in freshwater and begin migrating towards marine waters.
Sand Pufferfish are also sometimes known as the Orange Spotted Toadfish. Uncommonly seen in the aquarium trade. Sand Pufferfish are generally a dark brown with light green spots fading to a white belly. Sand Pufferfish can grow to slightly more than 5".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 50 gallons or larger for this species.
