Blotched Stingray

Urotrygon Stingrays should be added to very large aquariums with wide open swim areas and a good filter system. Stingrays also require a fine sand bed as they may partially bury themselves in the sand, concealing themselves from predators. Stingrays may be sensitive to copper, do not treat aquarium with copper products. Provide Stingrays with a diet rich in meaty based foods. Urotrygon Stingray prefer cooler water temperatures. They are social among their own species. Ensure a tight fitting lid as Stingrays may jump.
Blotched Stingray are also sometimes known as the Thorny Round Stingray or Chilean Stingray. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. Blotched Stingrays are a unform brown color with tiny dark spots. Blotched Stingray can grow to slightly more than 16".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 150 gallons or larger for this species.
