White Tip Reef Shark

Triaenodon Sharks should only be added to very large aquariums with a deep fine sand bed preferably zoos or public aquariums. Sharks will grow very large careful thought and consideration will need to be done before adding to home aquariums. Stable rockwork with plenty of caves, cracks and crevices should be provided for resting. Sharks lack airbladders instead they have two lobed liver that maintains their buoyancy. White Tip Reef Shark are also sometimes known as the Blunthead or Lighttip Shark. They are not often seen in the aquarium trade. White Tip Reef Shark have a slender body, with a broad and flattened head, and distinctive white tips on their first dorsal and upper caudal fins. The White Tip Reef Sharks can grow up to 5.2 inches in length.
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 1000 gallons or larger for this species.
