Sleek Unicorn Tang

Naso Tangs also known as Surgeonfish or Unicornfish. Care will need to be taken when handling Naso Tangs as they have very sharp spines or scalpels at the base of their tails, some species will also have a unicorn like appendage on their head, avoid using nets when handling. Naso Tangs should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of open room to swim. Plenty of rock work should be provided for grazing and hiding. Tank size should also be considered before purchasing as the adult Naso Tangs can become quite large. A diet of algae based foods along with Tang preperations should be provided.

The Sleek Unicorn Tang are also known as the Sleek Unicorn Surgeonfish. Rarely seen in the aquarium trade. The Sleek Unicorn Tangs vary in coloration ranging between dark brown to yellow and occasionally blue to silver with a black tongue. They can grow to a little over 30".

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 250 gallons or larger for this species.
