Three Spot Wrasse
(Halichoeres trimaculatus)
The Three Spot Wrasse are sometimes also known as the Spottail or Three Spot Rainbowfish. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. Adults and juveniles may have slightly color differences. Adults have a pale colored body with a black spot on its tail base, another smaller black spot behind the operculum, pink lines on its face, leading to spots behind its head and yellow tail. Juveniles are similarly colored but lack the spot behind its operculum, face markings and tail may not be as brightly colored. Three Spot Wrasse can grow to almost 11".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 100 gallons or larger for this species.
