Pelvic Spot Wrasse
(Pseudocheilinops ataenia)
Pseudocheilinops Wrasse are small, shy and secretive fish generally found among heavy coral growth. Pseudocheilinops Wrasse should be added to a large well established aquarium with plenty of swimroom as they are open water swimmers. . Provide plenty of rockwork with cracks, caves and crevices for hiding. Pseudocheilinops can be kept with other peaceful tank mates but only 1 male per aquarium. Wrasse are hermaphrodites meaning they start as juveniles/females but at some point in their life may turn into a male. Provide an aquarium with a tight fitting lid as they may jump.
The Pelvic Spot Wrasse are also sometimes known as the Pinkstreaked Wrasse. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. Pelvic Spot Wrasse coloration may vary depending upon maturity, collection area or breeding period. Mostly pink with blue spots and horizontal yellow lines with females coloration more subdued.
