Red Beadlet Anemone
(Actinia equina)
Actinia Anemone should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of lighting a sandy or muddy bottom in which to bury its foot. Anemones are capable of movement using their foot to the best suitable place in the aquarium. Provide a diet rich in small pieces of hand fed meaty foods it will also require high lighting to feed the symbiotic zooxanthellae algae within its body known as photosynthesis. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications.
The Beadlet Anemone is also known as the Red Sea Anemone. Beadlet Anemones are quite hardy and have been found in areas of cooler and warmer temperatures than other anemone's as well as a wide range of salinities. Not commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Beadlet Anemones are generally deep red, tan, brown purple green or with hues of orange. Beadlet Anemone can grow to almost 3".
