Hell Fire Anemone
(Actinodendron sp.)
Actinodendron Anemone should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of lighting a sandy or muddy bottom in which to bury its foot. Due to its potent sting it is recommended to not house with any other tank mates. Anemones are capable of movement using their foot to the best suitable place in the aquarium. Provide a diet rich in small pieces of hand fed meaty foods. Actinodendron Anemones are carnivorous and do not require lighting. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications.
The Hell Fire Anemone is also known as the Pinnate, Branching or Tree Anemone. Not normally collected for the aquarium trade as they have a potent sting, gloves should be worn at all times. They may also sting corals or other tank mates and easily damage or even kill them. Hell Fire Anemones are generally yellow, green, tan, brown light green or gray in color. Hellfire Anemone can grow to almost 12".
