Beaded Anemone

Heteractis Anemone should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of lighting a thick sandy, muddy or rubble bottom in which to bury its foot. Anemones are capable of movement using their foot to the best suitable place in the aquarium. Heteractis Anemones usually host A. clarkii, A. allardi, A. tricinctus, A. chrysogaster, A. chrysopterus, A. akindynos, and A. bicinctus. Provide a diet rich in small pieces of hand fed meaty foods it will also require high lighting to feed the symbiotic zooxanthellae algae within its body known as photosynthesis. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications.

The Beaded Anemone is also known as the Sand Anemone or the Aurora Anemone. Beaded Anemone's are recognizable by their short tentacles with small bead like tips. Somewhat commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Beaded Anemones are seen in different colors such as green, brown, creamy or purple colors, its column is generally a pale color but sometimes seen with an orange or red mottling near its foot. Beaded Anemone can grow to almost 10".
